Requirements
- Practical experience developing, supporting, or maintaining data platforms and cloud-based data solutions on Google Cloud Platform.
- Hands-on experience with BigQuery datasets, tables, views, data models, or reporting and analytics pipelines.
- Experience with PostgreSQL database development and maintenance, including schema design, SQL queries, indexing, and migrations.
- Strong working knowledge of Python for data engineering, automation, data processing, and platform development.
- Proficiency in SQL, including query development, data transformations, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
- Experience building, maintaining, or improving data pipelines that integrate and process information from multiple sources.
- Understanding of data modeling principles and analytical dataset design.
- Experience supporting production database environments and data platforms.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage responsibilities in a contract-based role.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance data platforms on Google Cloud Platform.
- Create and manage BigQuery datasets, tables, views, data models, and reporting pipelines.
- Design and maintain PostgreSQL schemas, optimize SQL queries, manage indexes, and support database migrations.
- Use Python and SQL to develop data processing logic, automate workflows, and implement transformations.
- Build and improve data pipelines that integrate information from multiple sources.
- Design and maintain analytical datasets and data models for reporting and downstream use.
- Troubleshoot production issues, monitor performance, and support database and platform operations.
- Identify and address bottlenecks in queries, databases, and data pipelines.
- Investigate data inconsistencies and implement improvements to platform stability.
- Collaborate with engineering and technical stakeholders on data solutions and project requirements.
