Requirements
- Have 2+ years of relevant professional experience in subrogation, claims, or case management.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Access is preferred.
- Experience in a legal or insurance office setting is preferred.
- Paralegal, legal assistant, casualty, or health insurance experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with Medicaid and/or Medicare programs is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Process probate and estate functions involving state Medicaid beneficiaries or deceased Medicaid beneficiaries.
- Manage subrogation cases, maintain case files, and negotiate settlements across a caseload of 700 to 1,000 cases.
- Prepare correspondence, liens, claims, and related documents to progress cases toward recovery.
- Review case documents, conduct legal research, and update case status to move cases through workflow.
- Confirm beneficiary eligibility and validate third-party liability, probate, and beneficiary asset research.
- Compile information from multiple sources and determine case information and status.
- Process claim and lien disputes and review claims with attorneys and other stakeholders.
- Follow up on case status and payments and negotiate settlements within contract guidelines.
- Sign and file notarized documents with counties when applicable.
- Prioritize recovery issues and case events while meeting internal and legal deadlines.
