Requirements
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Master's, MPhil, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Systems, or a related technical field.
- Have a strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, operating systems, networking, memory management, and concurrency.
- Be proficient in at least one programming language, preferably C++, Rust, or Java.
- Bring strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to break complex problems into measurable hypotheses.
- Be interested in how software interacts with hardware and how system performance can be improved.
- Demonstrate learning agility, curiosity, and the ability to quickly understand unfamiliar systems and technologies.
- Prior experience in low-latency or trading systems is not required.
Responsibilities
- Design and optimize high-throughput, low-latency systems, including messaging infrastructure, concurrent processing pipelines, and networking.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across CPU, memory, operating systems, networking, and concurrency.
- Optimize memory allocation, data structures, serialization, and multithreaded processing to improve system efficiency.
- Explore optimization techniques, including lock-free architectures, CPU affinity, and memory management.
- Build benchmarking and profiling tools to measure throughput, CPU efficiency, and latency (p50/p99/p999).
- Collaborate with experienced engineers to investigate complex system performance issues and deliver measurable improvements.
