Requirements
- Have 5+ years of hands-on security operations experience.
- Bring experience in one or more of investigations, incident response, incident management, digital forensics, threat intelligence, threat hunting, or detection engineering.
- Be proficient in Python or another scripting language.
- Have experience automating security detection and response.
- Know the Cyber Kill Chain and MITRE ATT&CK frameworks and how they apply to the current threat landscape.
- Be able to lead through influence in complex, ambiguous situations.
- Stay calm, collaborative, and decisive in high-pressure situations.
- Have strong organization, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
- Be self-motivated, creative, and able to work independently.
- SQL and Pandas experience are a plus.
- Familiarity with Elasticsearch is preferred.
- Experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, and RDS is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Investigate security incidents using digital forensics and data analysis.
- Hunt for threats and unusual activity across corporate and production environments.
- Build automation and detection models to identify unusual activity and speed up response at scale.
- Work with engineering teams to design and deliver advanced detection solutions.
- Find infrastructure visibility gaps and work with partners to improve logging and detection.
- Lead complex investigations with Legal, Privacy, Engineering, and other cross-functional partners.
- Use incident lessons and root cause analysis to drive lasting security improvements.
- Mentor team members and help define detection and response processes.
