Requirements
- Bring strong backend engineering skills and an interest in database internals, query optimization, and distributed systems.
- Have experience with analytical databases, data pipelines, or high-throughput event processing.
- Be comfortable reading and writing TypeScript and SQL.
- Be self-organized and able to form opinions about what to build and how to ship it.
- Have an interest in open source software and enjoy discussing users’ scaling challenges.
- Be comfortable working in a small, accountable team.
- A CS or quantitative degree is preferred.
- Experience with ClickHouse, other OLAP databases, or observability infrastructure is a bonus.
- Background building data-intensive systems at scale is a bonus.
Responsibilities
- Own and optimize the ingestion pipeline for throughput, latency, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Design ClickHouse schemas and optimize merge strategies, batch inserts, and analytical queries.
- Build backend abstractions and infrastructure-heavy features, including asynchronous data processing, alerting, and batch dataset operations.
- Operate Langfuse Cloud across multiple production environments.
- Support self-hosting deployments, from Docker Compose to enterprise-grade Helm charts.
- Run load tests against production data to evaluate schema, migration, and query changes.
- Plan infrastructure for increased scale and new product directions.
