Requirements
- Extensive hands-on experience designing and building enterprise-grade data platforms from scratch, as both architect and individual contributor.
- Deep expertise in Databricks and lakehouse architecture design.
- Experience with at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, OpenTofu, or AWS CDK.
- Strong command of data modeling, distributed computing, ETL/ELT design patterns, and entity resolution.
- Ability to structure data platforms for downstream data science, machine learning, and business intelligence.
- A background in data engineering and pipeline or platform development, rather than analytics or reporting-tool work alone.
- Advanced written and spoken English proficiency for daily technical and strategic communication with client leadership.
- Ability to propose, present, and defend technical solutions directly to client stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Design and build a scalable lakehouse data platform, from raw data ingestion through downstream consumption layers.
- Define end-to-end data lifecycle architecture for analytics, machine learning, and business intelligence use cases.
- Build and review production-grade data pipelines, frameworks, and platform services.
- Clean, transform, and resolve entities across unstructured legal and historical records.
- Provision, manage, and scale cloud infrastructure as code for repeatable platform deployments.
- Set engineering best practices, code quality standards, and architectural guardrails.
- Mentor engineering team members on data engineering practices and platform standards.
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions and present and defend architectural decisions to client leadership and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the AI architecture counterpart and product owner in a lean delivery team.
