Requirements
- At least 5 years of commercial experience in backend development, data platforms or integration systems.
- At least 5 years of practical Apache Kafka experience in production environments.
- Strong knowledge of Apache Kafka brokers, topics, producers, consumers, logs and replication mechanisms.
- Practical experience with Kafka Streams and kSQL.
- Experience configuring and developing Kafka Connect, including ready-made and custom connectors.
- Strong Java and Spring Boot skills.
- Experience designing and building microservices.
- Knowledge of Avro, Protobuf and JSON Schema.
- Experience working with MongoDB.
- Practical knowledge of Prometheus, Grafana and observability.
- Knowledge of security topics including TLS, SASL, ACLs and data encryption.
- Experience working with Agile methodologies, including Scrum or Kanban.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop event-driven solutions using Apache Kafka.
- Build and develop microservices with Java and Spring Boot.
- Implement solutions using Kafka Streams and kSQL.
- Design, develop and maintain Kafka Connect source and sink connectors.
- Define and version Avro, Protobuf and JSON Schema data schemas.
- Integrate the platform with MongoDB, Apache Iceberg, S3 and other systems and databases.
- Develop data transformations using Single Message Transforms and custom converters.
- Maintain the API layer that provides data to business systems.
- Automate configuration of topics, connectors, streams and Kafka Streams applications.
- Monitor and troubleshoot performance, replication and data-processing issues, and optimize Kafka configuration.
