Requirements
- Have hands-on experience operating AWS, GCP, or Azure in production; AWS is preferred.
- Have 3+ years running production Kubernetes with Helm, including debugging OOMs, resource limits, and failed rollouts.
- Have experience with Terraform in multi-environment setups and CI/CD in GitHub Actions with short-lived credentials.
- Know Go, or Python and a desire to learn Go; read and write code in the services you operate.
- Have experience with symptom-based alerting using Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry, and managing SLOs.
- Have production Postgres experience, including backups, point-in-time recovery, migrations, and upgrades.
- Have owned on-call, led incidents, and written postmortems.
- Apply least privilege, secrets handling, access reviews, and audit trails in operations.
- Work with AI agents for infrastructure changes and check their output appropriately.
Responsibilities
- Own SLOs, alerting, on-call, and blameless postmortems for the control plane and customer installations.
- Manage provisioning, maintenance windows, and safe auto-upgrades across SaaS and self-hosted installations.
- Address sensor memory ceilings and OOM visibility, ClickHouse cost and capacity, and the health of Postgres, PGMQ, and Temporal.
- Evolve infrastructure with Terraform, Terragrunt, Helm, GitHub Actions, local development tools, and staging and production environments.
- Run backups, disaster recovery, and continuity tests, producing evidence for SOC 2 and ISO 27001.
