Requirements
- Bring senior-level backend development experience, typically 7+ years, including significant work on high-volume transactional systems.
- Have production experience with PHP, Laravel, Java, and Spring Boot.
- Have hands-on Go experience or a strong commitment to adopting it quickly.
- Have demonstrated experience in the online betting industry.
- Be bilingual in English and French and able to work, write documentation, and communicate with partners in both languages.
- Have advanced SQL and relational database skills, including query tuning and index design.
- Have experience designing, building, and integrating payment APIs, wallets, or other financial transaction systems.
- Understand concurrency, asynchronous processing, and algorithmic complexity.
- Have practical experience with Docker, CI/CD, and AWS.
- Have a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- PCI DSS certification or recertification experience is a plus.
- Kubernetes, Ansible, or other infrastructure-as-code experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop highly scalable backend services and B2B APIs.
- Build and maintain systems capable of handling very high transaction volumes.
- Own complex technical problems from design through production.
- Design APIs, services, data models, and distributed systems for scalability and reliability.
- Optimize SQL queries and indexes and resolve application, database, and system performance bottlenecks.
- Contribute to migrating and modernizing PHP and Java modules toward Go.
- Design failure-resilient systems with appropriate retry, recovery, and dead-letter mechanisms.
- Build observability through structured logging, metrics, tracing, and production monitoring.
- Contribute to automated testing, CI/CD, containerization, and production deployment.
- Integrate payment providers and partners and support online betting deposits, withdrawals, wallet updates, and payouts.
