Requirements

- Bring knowledge of Deaf culture and visual linguistics.
- Understand BSL grammar and syntax, including non-manual markers and fingerspelling.
- Understand regional variations in BSL.
- Communicate clearly and metacognitively, showing your work.
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Deaf Studies, Sign Language Interpreting, Linguistics, or a related field is ideal.
- RID certification, teaching experience, or community interpreting projects are signals of fit.
Responsibilities
- Converse with the model on real-world BSL communication scenarios.
- Discuss theoretical questions in signed-language linguistics with the model.
- Verify linguistic accuracy and cultural appropriateness.
- Capture reproducible error traces and document model failure modes.
- Suggest improvements to prompt engineering and evaluation metrics.
