Job Details

Experience
10+ years of professional experience in IMS for administration and systems programming support.

Requirements

  • Have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Have 10+ years of professional experience in IMS administration and systems programming support.
  • Know best practices for software management, maintenance, and documentation.
  • Configure and manage IMS in a parallel sysplex environment.
  • Troubleshoot IMS system, database, and production database issues.
  • Evaluate change requests and determine their impact to assigned clients.
  • Have strong JCL skills and database administration experience.
  • Know IMS database organization and VSAM and OSAM access methods.
  • Understand full-function database types, including HSAM, HISAM, SHISAM, HDAM, HIDAM, INDEX, and GSAM.
  • Understand HALDB logical databases, including PHDAM, PHIDAM, ILDS, and PSINDEX.
  • Know Fast Path databases (DEDBs), database design, and related utilities.
  • Understand DBD and PSB source coding and generation, secondary indexes, PROCOPT, path calls, logical relationships, and Data Set Groups.

Responsibilities

  • Fulfill customer service requests for mainframe z/OS customers related to IMS and related OEM software products.
  • Provide primary support for reported problems related to IMS and related OEM software products.
  • Install OEM software products according to procedures, best practices, and Ensono standards.
  • Support customer migration services and address technical hurdles during newly acquired customer transitions.
  • Execute tasks associated with customer disaster recovery plans in cooperation with Disaster Recovery Services.
  • Follow schedules that manage resources and allow timely implementations.
  • Follow ITSM change control procedures.
