Requirements
- Bring senior-level experience and independently take an ML model from problem definition through production deployment.
- Have very good Python skills for production use, including testing, version control, and code review.
- Have good SQL skills.
- Demonstrate solid statistical foundations, including defining target variables and exposure, identifying data leakage, and using time-aware rather than random-split validation.
- Have practical experience with GLM and boosting models.
- Speak fluent English in technical conversations.
- Translate results into recommendations and state when the data is insufficient to make a decision.
- R is useful because some work uses code written in R by others.
- Optimization methods, including multi-criteria optimization, are useful.
- Spatial or satellite data experience, including raster and vector data, GeoPandas, rasterio, or PostGIS, is useful.
- MLOps experience with data and model versioning, CI/CD, monitoring, or Azure is useful.
- Experience in pricing, risk, credit risk, forecasting, econometrics, experiment design, or causal inference is useful.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and validate machine-learning models for tabular risk data and satellite and spatial data.
- Develop baselines, GLM and gradient-boosting models, and apply time-aware validation and calibration.
- Create repeatable pipelines for model training and evaluation.
- Deploy models to production with the engineering team.
- Work on multi-criteria optimization of pricing decisions.
- Set technical standards, conduct code reviews, and review teammates’ models.
- Discuss models live with client experts in English.
- Contribute to commercial and/or research and development projects.
