Have at least 3 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a related software engineering role.
Write clean, testable production Python code, including backend services using FastAPI, Flask, or similar frameworks to expose REST APIs.
Have advanced SQL skills, including query optimization on large datasets.
Have practical T-SQL and MS SQL Server experience, including reading and reasoning about legacy stored procedures.
Have hands-on experience with Apache Spark and PySpark.
Have experience with dbt models, tests, macros, and layered warehouse design.
Understand data warehouse design principles and data modeling.
Have practical knowledge of ETL/ELT processes and experience analyzing and migrating legacy code.
Be familiar with data quality, monitoring, pipeline reliability, and workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow or Dagster.
Understand CI/CD pipeline building and maintenance principles and REST standards for system integration.
Have strong analytical problem-solving skills and attention to detail, including willingness to work to a hard monthly accounting close deadline.
Communicate effectively and collaborate with engineers and finance or accounting stakeholders.

Design, build, and maintain data pipelines for XTB's accounting and tax systems using SQL, Python, dbt, and Apache Spark/PySpark.
Migrate the existing data platform to Databricks, including rewriting legacy MS SQL Server stored procedures into Spark or Databricks SQL.
Build and maintain a Python data service that exposes data through a REST API and web UI.
Work with raw data and design methods to integrate it into the data platform.
Develop CI/CD pipelines for data engineering solutions.
Create and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions.
