- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Data Pipeline Engineering & Systems Integration or IT.
Requirements
- Meet one of the education and experience combinations: bachelor’s degree with at least 4 years of professional experience; associate degree with at least 7 years; or high school diploma with at least 9 years.
- Have at least 3 years of professional experience in Data Pipeline Engineering & Systems Integration or IT.
- Have hands-on pipeline engineering experience across ingestion, transformation, and orchestration in hybrid environments (desired).
- Have API and connector development experience for first-party, third-party, or customer-site data sources (desired).
- Have experience with hybrid cloud, on-premises, and edge secure connectivity and secure data transmission patterns (desired).
- Be familiar with metadata-driven governance platforms and policy-as-code or attribute-based access control (desired).
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering, preferably a STEM major (desired).
- Have a certification such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Developer, or Microsoft Azure Administrator or Developer Associate (desired).
- Be able to obtain and maintain a US Government SECRET security clearance (desired).
- Have a background in defense, aerospace, or another regulated or export-controlled data environment (desired).
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain automated metadata ingestion pipelines across distributed source systems.
- Develop API and connector integrations for new data sources and data-product delivery, including third-party and customer-site sources.
- Plan, schedule, and execute integration work for data products moving through the lifecycle.
- Support schema-translation pipeline builds in partnership with the Sr Staff Data Engineer.
- Wire the policy enforcement engine to operationalize governance rules and the runtime design set by the Principal Data Architect.
- Implement policy-as-code and attribute-based access control, including export-control and data-sovereignty enforcement.
- Partner with federated IAM and export compliance architects to validate enforcement logic against the access model.
- Onboard and manage data-product technical operations, including monitoring, alerting, and pipeline reliability.
- Maintain technical documentation for federated teams and support the 3–5 business-day certification and onboarding SLA.
- Build to established architecture standards and raise gaps with proposed patterns rather than local workarounds.
