Requirements
- A proven track record in a customer-facing presales role selling networking equipment, or end-user experience in design, architecture, or vendor selection.
- Exceptional hands-on skills and the ability to support complex proof-of-concept tests involving new products and emerging technologies.
- Ability to engage in detailed technical discussions with Enterprise and Service Provider Engineering teams about data center and WAN technologies and HPE solutions.
- Experience designing data center and WAN architectures, including EVPN/VXLAN, CLOS fabrics, and underlay designs.
- Expert-level knowledge and hands-on experience with TCP/IP, BGP, ISIS, OSPF, multicast, Layer 2/3 VPNs, Carrier Ethernet, MPLS traffic engineering, SDN overlays, network fabrics, and DCI solutions.
- Familiarity with networking silicon, hardware platforms, and related software, including Juniper/HPE, Nokia, Arista, or Cisco.
- Knowledge of network management, service provisioning, automation, monitoring, and telemetry interfaces, including Netconf/REST APIs, YANG, OpenConfig, and gRPC.
- Experience with programming or scripting such as Python, APIs, and JSON for solution integration and automation.
- Knowledge of containers and related technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, and familiarity with Linux.
- English verbal and written/presentation skills are mandatory; other major European language skills are an advantage.
- Comfort with extensive international travel to visit customers, partners, and account teams; typically 20–30% of working time.
Responsibilities
- Translate business needs into scalable technical solutions for new and existing data center and WAN routing opportunities.
- Build and maintain relationships with customers, HPE sales teams, channel partners, Product Line Management, and Engineering.
- Guide sales engineering teams in understanding customer requirements and designing solutions.
- Deliver technical deep-dive presentations and demonstrations, contribute to proof-of-concept tests, and assist with tender responses.
- Present and provide training at seminars and industry events, including conferences, HPE Tech Jams, and Network Operator Groups.
- Advise HPE sales engineering teams on HPE products, automation solutions, industry trends, and competing solutions.
- Develop and share technical thought leadership on networking innovations and industry trends.
- Mentor junior technologists and provide technical leadership to sales engineering teams.
