Requirements
- Have proven product design experience that has evolved substantially into design engineering, with ownership of complex product areas from problem definition through launch and iteration.
- Have strong frontend engineering skills in HTML, CSS, TypeScript, and React.
- Be able to independently turn product and design concepts into polished working implementations.
- Have strong experience designing and engineering custom UI components and primitives.
- Have deep expertise in headless primitive composition, using Base UI, Radix, or similar technologies.
- Have a strong understanding of motion design principles, including timing, easing, and choreography.
- Have daily experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, v0, or comparable tools.
- Be familiar with web standards and browser-native platform primitives.
- Have proven experience building and maintaining design systems, including reusable primitives, components, and product-specific patterns.
- Have accessibility knowledge covering WCAG, ARIA, assistive technologies, keyboard interaction, focus management, and accessible design patterns.
- Be able to understand APIs, data models, application state, and technical constraints.
- Have strong written communication skills, especially for clear asynchronous documentation.
Responsibilities
- Own core product surfaces, including booking flows, scheduling primitives, and team and enterprise experiences, from concept through production.
- Translate product problems and hypotheses into designs, prototypes, and production-ready frontend components.
- Build and test prototypes using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, and v0.
- Deliver accessible components with correct semantics and complete interaction states for product engineers to use directly.
- Design, engineer, and maintain custom components and primitives rather than relying on generic third-party UI libraries.
- Audit and improve the shared component library by refining patterns and contributing reusable components.
- Maintain consistency across design tokens, spacing, states, dark mode, motion, and interaction patterns.
- Frame hypotheses, define success criteria, support implementation, and evaluate results.
- Document design decisions through written documentation, prototypes, and recorded walkthroughs to support asynchronous collaboration.
