Have 5+ years in data engineering or backend engineering with a heavy data focus.
Have hands-on experience at scale with a cloud warehouse, ideally Snowflake.
Have hands-on experience with dbt.
Have strong Python and SQL skills.
Have solid data modeling, warehousing, and schema design skills.
Be comfortable owning systems end-to-end in a fast-moving environment.
Use AI coding tools day-to-day.
Production ML or real-time analytics workflow experience is a plus.
Familiarity with CDC or streaming, Apache Iceberg, S3, and BI tools such as Holistics or Hex is a plus.
Experience in energy, IoT, payments, or another high-volume, correctness-critical domain is a plus.

Design, build, and own scalable data pipelines across the modern data stack, from ingestion through warehousing to delivery.
Lead data-platform architectural decisions, including the OLake → Iceberg → Snowflake pipeline, and establish performance and cost baselines.
Own data quality, lineage, and observability, including freshness, completeness, schema-drift detection, cost-per-job, and SLAs.
Partner with engineering and analysts on telematics accuracy and driver incentive reporting.
Translate business requirements into reliable, well-modeled data.
Model data for operational and analytical use cases and build maintainable dbt staging, intermediate, and mart layers.
Use AI tooling such as Claude and Cursor to build pipelines and write and review SQL and dbt models.
Use and improve the team's AI-native infrastructure and bring useful tools and practices back to the team.
