Requirements
- Have quality engineering or QA experience with modern software products, including depth in both manual and automated testing.
- Have experience designing test cases, test plans, and test strategies for non-trivial systems.
- Have experience building and maintaining automated test suites in production-grade CI environments.
- Have hands-on experience with at least one modern UI automation tool, such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or Appium.
- Have experience with at least one API testing approach, such as Postman, REST clients, RestAssured, Supertest, or Pytest with requests.
- Have working knowledge of test case management tools such as Qase, TestRail, Xray, or Zephyr, and bug tracking tools such as Jira, Linear, or Asana.
- Be comfortable wiring automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar, including quality gates, parallelization, and reporting.
- Be proficient in at least one of JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or Java, sufficiently to write, debug, and refactor automation code.
- Understand risk-based testing, equivalence partitioning, boundary analysis, exploratory testing, and regression strategy.
- Be able to define quality gates, run release validation, and make evidence-backed go/no-go decisions.
- Use AI tools such as Claude, Cursor, or Copilot daily to accelerate test design, automation, debugging, and documentation, while evaluating their output.
- Be able to work autonomously, challenge unclear requirements, prioritize by risk, and own outcomes.
- Have excellent written and spoken English and be comfortable working in fully remote, distributed teams.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end quality for products and features in scope.
- Define risk-based test strategies and review requirements and designs for ambiguity, edge cases, and testability.
- Run structured exploratory testing and document findings with reproducible steps, environment, expected and actual results, severity, and impact.
- Design test cases and maintain traceability to requirements, acceptance criteria, and product risks.
- Build and maintain smoke tests, regression suites, release checklists, and automated suites across UI, API, and integration layers.
- Triage, prioritize, and track defects to resolution, and produce concise release-quality reports.
- Own release validation and define and enforce quality gates for staging, UAT, and production.
- Coordinate with DevOps on hotfixes, rollback, and post-release monitoring, and make evidence-backed go/no-go calls.
