Requirements
- Have advanced English proficiency at C1 level or above for direct, daily engagement with North American stakeholders.
- Have proven experience in data architecture design and hands-on technical leadership of multidisciplinary data teams.
- Have experience designing, building, and deploying data pipelines, lakehouse architectures, and data products at scale.
- Have hands-on experience with Databricks, including Delta Lake and Unity Catalog, or equivalent depth on AWS data services.
- Have strong data modeling skills across dimensional (Kimball) and relational approaches, with advanced SQL.
- Have experience with pipeline orchestration and workflow automation, such as dbt, Databricks Workflows, or Apache Airflow.
- Be able to translate business problems into practical data solutions and communicate trade-offs to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Be able to work in a nearshore delivery model with consistent overlap with US Central business hours.
- Databricks certification is a nice-to-have.
- Experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouse platforms is a nice-to-have.
- Knowledge of data governance and privacy principles in regulated industries is a nice-to-have.
- Experience with CI/CD and MLOps pipeline practices, AI solutions, or agentic coding workflows is a nice-to-have.
Responsibilities
- Lead the data team technically, guiding database specialists and developers in designing, developing, and maintaining data products and pipelines.
- Define and evolve target data architecture across ingestion, lakehouse design, modeling, governance, and serving.
- Translate business and technical requirements into solutions, selecting suitable frameworks, patterns, and modeling approaches.
- Collaborate with client architects and business leaders to present architectural options and trade-offs, and record decisions.
- Establish standards for data quality, access control, data lineage, and privacy.
- Incorporate CI/CD and DataOps practices to support consistent, reliable delivery.
- Lead current-state data assessments and knowledge transfers during transitions.
- Develop proofs of concept and prototypes to validate architectural approaches and demonstrate value to client stakeholders.
- Contribute to and draw on shared methodologies and expertise across CI&T data engagements.
