Requirements
- Bring 8+ years of experience shipping and running production SaaS.
- Have experience designing scalable distributed systems, APIs, and service boundaries.
- Bring substantial TypeScript and Node.js experience.
- Have experience with both relational and document databases.
- Be able to own features end to end, from schema and API through UI and production delivery.
- Have built internal developer tooling, automation, and developer platform workflows used by other engineers.
- Have experience deploying, monitoring, and operating production systems, including incident response.
- Understand observability and security as part of production operations.
- Have built and shipped AI-powered product capabilities and understand how to evaluate, monitor, and improve them in production.
- Have experience mentoring engineers and establishing durable engineering standards.
- Thrive in ambiguous environments and drive technical outcomes autonomously.
Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and maintain production-grade SaaS applications across the full stack using JavaScript/TypeScript, frontend frameworks, and Node.js/NestJS.
- Design resilient APIs, database schemas, and cloud-native services that can scale with business growth.
- Partner with Product, Design, and Engineering leaders to turn operational and financial challenges into software solutions.
- Architect and implement agentic AI capabilities and intelligent workflows in production applications.
- Establish reliability patterns for AI features, including guardrails, evaluation frameworks, fallback strategies, and model observability.
- Build and maintain engineering harnesses, automated workflows, and internal developer tooling.
- Introduce AI-assisted development tools and automated testing, documentation, and debugging aids.
- Identify and eliminate performance bottlenecks in APIs, data pipelines, and backend microservices.
- Mentor senior and mid-level engineers, lead architecture reviews, and raise standards for code quality, testing, and system design.
