Requirements
- Have 5-8 years of professional software engineering experience focused on system integrations, data pipelines, and distributed data platforms.
- Be proficient in Go or Python for integration development.
- Have demonstrated ability to lead an integration from requirements through production deployment and make technical decisions.
- Have hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code and deployment tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
- Have working knowledge of on-premises big data platforms such as Hadoop, Spark, Hive, or Presto, including configuration, validation, and triage.
- Have experience deploying and integrating in cloud-native environments, with familiarity with GCP VPC, BigQuery, Dataflow, or GKE.
- Have experience connecting on-premises and cloud environments under security constraints, including validating and troubleshooting hybrid data paths.
- Be familiar with access control, identity management, and network security controls such as IAM and VPC Service Controls.
- Have experience debugging complex cross-system integration failures in production or near-production environments.
- Have a track record of mentoring engineers through code review, pairing, or technical guidance.
- Be able to collaborate and communicate in distributed, remote, cross-functional teams and serve as a technical point of contact in ambiguous environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead full-lifecycle integration delivery, from requirements analysis and connector design through implementation, testing, deployment, and validation.
- Work with customer engineering and operations teams to map network topology, data sources, system dependencies, and operational constraints.
- Make and document technical decisions for integrations that do not fit established patterns, and contribute to shared architectural standards.
- Mentor Integration Engineers through code review, pairing, and direct feedback; serve as the first technical escalation point.
- Design and build custom data connectors and integration plugins for complex or undocumented source systems.
- Manage on-premises data platform environments and cloud-connected infrastructure, including configuration, service health, provisioning, connectivity, and access controls.
- Deploy and validate integrations across cloud-native, on-premises, and tactical-edge customer environments.
- Diagnose cross-system integration failures, distinguish integration-layer issues from platform issues, and coordinate resolution.
- Contribute reusable integration patterns, runbooks, and onboarding documentation to the program-wide integrator playbook.
