SalaryUS based applicants: $163,560 - $240,092 USD + equity + benefits. Canada candidates only: For Toronto and Vancouver based applicants, the salary range is $210,013 - $246,625 CAD + equity + benefits. For all other locations in Canada, the salary range is $196,012 - $230,183 CAD + equity + benefits.

Requirements
- Have 7+ years of work experience in an analytical or quantitative role, including 5+ years as a Data Scientist or in a similar title.
- Demonstrate success at senior or staff level in scope and autonomy.
- Show ability to tackle difficult data questions through deep product-area ownership and cross-functional or cross-team efforts.
- Have expertise in statistical techniques, including regression, hypothesis testing, and causal inference, and their practical application.
- Have experience mentoring data scientists and improving team standards through best practices and process improvements.
- Use a procedural programming language such as Python or R for data manipulation, modeling, and analysis; be comfortable working in a production codebase.
- Translate ambiguous business needs into analytical questions and explain technical results to executives and cross-functional partners.
- Be available for meetings and impromptu communication during coordination hours (Mon-Fri: 9am-3pm Pacific Time).
- Preferred: Have 2+ years of experience evaluating recommender systems through offline analysis and online experiments.
- Preferred: Have experience setting technical direction or strategy for a team or major workstream.
- Preferred: Have experience with large data sets and distributed computing tools such as Presto/Trino.
Responsibilities
- Own ambiguous, high-impact product and business problems from question framing through analysis and solution development with cross-functional partners.
- Partner with stakeholders and company leadership to shape product strategy and anticipate future challenges.
- Design and evaluate experiments to measure the impact of product and strategic changes.
- Analyze product data to uncover root causes of metric movements.
- Develop tools, methodologies, and frameworks to improve data practices across the team and company.
- Mentor data scientists and promote industry best practices across the team.
