Requirements
- Have a bachelor's degree and 10 years of professional experience, a master's degree and 8 years, an associate's degree and 12 years, or a high school diploma/equivalent and 14 years.
- Have extensive systems administration experience across hybrid on-premises and cloud environments.
- Demonstrate expertise administering vCenter, ESXi/vSphere (6.x/7.x/8.x), vROPS, and VMware Log Insight in enterprise environments.
- Have hands-on AWS experience with EC2, S3, CloudFormation, and workload migration tooling such as Application Migration Service.
- Be proficient administering Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Linux/UNIX environments, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS, and Ubuntu.
- Have experience managing NAS, SAN, and enterprise hardware from Dell, HP, NetApp, or comparable vendors.
- Have working knowledge of enterprise backup and replication solutions and experience designing or implementing Backup-to-Cloud and disaster recovery strategies.
- Be familiar with AWS, Azure, and GCP and able to advise on workload placement, cost optimization, and architecture trade-offs.
- Have experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, PKI, and enterprise IAM.
- Demonstrate the ability to perform zero-downtime upgrades, migrations, and hardware decommissions in production environments.
- Have strong written and verbal skills and the ability to produce technical documentation and present to technical peers and senior leadership.
- U.S. citizenship is required, and candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
Responsibilities
- Administer Windows Server and Linux/UNIX systems across on-premises data centers and cloud environments.
- Manage VMware vCloud, vSphere, vCenter, vROPS, Log Insight, and SCVMM environments.
- Administer and optimize AWS services, including EC2, S3, CloudFormation, and Application Migration Service.
- Lead and support data integration and workload migrations from on-premises infrastructure to AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Administer NAS and SAN storage, enterprise backup software, Backup-to-Cloud replication, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Advise OCIO leadership and program stakeholders on cloud and hybrid architectures, workload placement, and resource utilization.
- Apply operating system, hypervisor, and application security patches and meet IAVA remediation timelines.
- Maintain monitoring dashboards and troubleshoot performance and availability incidents across physical, virtual, and cloud infrastructure.
- Use Kubernetes, Jenkins, Ansible, or comparable tooling to support workload modernization, CI/CD operations, and infrastructure-as-code deployments.
- Maintain architecture diagrams, configuration records, migration plans, and runbooks, and collaborate using Jira, Confluence, and Microsoft Teams.
