Job Details

Experience: One or more years experience entering data into computer systems.

Demonstrate proficiency using computer applications.
Have one or more years of experience entering data into computer systems.
Have experience using the internet.
Be able to work independently and meet production goals established by MRO.
Demonstrate strong verbal communication and success responding to customer inquiries.
Demonstrate attention to detail.
Have a proven track record of dependability.
Have a High School Diploma or GED.
Prior Release of Information experience in a physician’s office or HIM Department is a plus.
Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations is preferred.

Review requestor information under HIPAA guidelines and determine which records to release.
Obtain patient records from electronic, off-site, and physical sources.
Answer phone calls about release-of-information issues.
Respond to walk-in customers when necessary and log customer information in the ROI On-Line database.
Process physician-office requests on a priority basis and fax information to physician offices.
Log medical record requests in the ROI On-Line database.
Scan medical records into the ROI On-Line database.
Follow site facility policies and regulations.
Handle and record cash payments at specified sites.
