Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or have equivalent professional experience.
- Have 10+ years of experience in application or solution architecture.
- Have 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture, cloud engineering, cloud-native application design, and deployment.
- Have 5+ years of experience designing, deploying, and managing large-scale, complex serverless SaaS solutions on public cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
- Have 5+ years of experience with CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and DevOps.
- Demonstrate expertise in AWS services, scalability, availability, security, disaster recovery, and cost optimization.
- Bring advanced proficiency in cloud-native serverless application design, microservices architecture, and event-driven patterns.
- Understand multi-region and multi-tenant SaaS architectures and cloud service design patterns.
- Have experience with monitoring and observability tools, including AWS CloudWatch.
- Have working knowledge of identity and access management across on-premises and public cloud environments.
- Be familiar with HITRUST, HIPAA, and SOC 2 compliance frameworks and regulations.
- Hold AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional certification or an equivalent advanced certification.
- Preferred: 5+ years as an architect in a commercial SaaS environment and 5+ years working within a formal architecture governance framework.
- Preferred: Master’s degree and/or certifications such as TOGAF, ITIL, or Cloud Security.
Responsibilities
- Define and communicate architectural vision and technology strategy for scalable, secure, resilient SaaS products.
- Architect and guide cloud-native solutions across public cloud, hybrid, and on-premises deployment models, with a focus on AWS.
- Design for elasticity, high availability, disaster recovery, security, data retention, and operational resilience.
- Partner with Product Management to align product roadmaps and release plans with technology strategy and target-state architecture.
- Maintain product technology roadmaps, technical scorecards, technical-debt inventories, and alignment with architecture, security, and operational standards.
- Provide technical direction, mentorship, and architectural guidance to product engineering teams.
- Lead architecture assessments, proofs of concept, design reviews, and living architecture artifacts throughout the governance lifecycle.
- Collaborate with product management, engineering, security, operations, technical architects, clients, and other stakeholders to translate needs into architecture designs.
- Ensure product designs meet security, privacy, compliance, and operational requirements, including relevant healthcare standards.
- Monitor industry trends and incorporate relevant innovations into long-term product and technology roadmaps.
