Requirements

  • Hold a Master’s degree in Anthropology or a related field.
  • Have a minimum of five years of supervisory experience encompassing field, laboratory, and office work.
  • Meet the Secretary of the Interior’s professional qualifications standards for archaeology and be an RPA or eligible to become an RPA.
  • Demonstrate expertise in state and federal laws and guidelines governing cultural resources management.
  • Have experience managing archaeological projects and cultural resource studies.
  • Demonstrate client management skills.
  • Have strong technical writing skills for technical reports and proposals.
  • Be able to support and manage projects in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Be available to work flexibly outside standard working hours.
  • Be able to travel.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expertise on field strategies, research, and state, regional, and federal regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare research designs and build research teams.
  • Oversee research, fieldwork, data analysis, report preparation, and other project tasks to meet research goals, budgets, schedules, and contract requirements.
  • Recommend and deploy technology and methodology.
  • Serve as the primary author and researcher on technical reports, and ensure report quality and quality assurance.
  • Prepare research articles, papers, and presentations for academic and industry venues.
  • Conduct field visits and occasional archaeological fieldwork.
  • Develop project proposals, cost estimates, and schedules.
  • Train and mentor archaeologists and report authors.
  • Develop and manage agency and client relationships, and communicate project developments to teams, company leadership, and clients.
