Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of project management or related work experience; OR an associate's degree and 7+ years; OR a high school diploma or equivalent and 9+ years.
- Strong project and program management experience in complex engineering environments.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent programs with competing priorities.
- Expertise in planning, scheduling, risk management, issue resolution, and stakeholder communication.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycles and modern development workflows.
- Understanding of open-source software development models.
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, Microsoft 365, PowerPoint, Excel or reporting systems, and GitHub or collaborative development platforms.
- Ability to communicate with engineers, directors, executives, and external partners and to prepare executive reporting.
- Preferred: 8+ years of project or program management experience.
- Preferred: Experience in semiconductor, embedded software, Linux, Android, automotive, IoT, or open-source ecosystems.
- Preferred: Exposure to Linux kernel development, upstream contribution workflows, or open-source governance.
- Preferred: Experience leading geographically distributed teams and supporting executive reviews and organizational planning.
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of open-source initiatives across Linux Kernel Upstreaming, Open Boot, Zephyr RTOS, Linux distributions, and testing and validation infrastructure.
- Define and maintain program roadmaps, facilitate prioritization and backlog management, and coordinate quarterly planning.
- Drive project execution from planning through delivery, maintaining plans, milestones, dependencies, and success criteria.
- Monitor program health through KPIs and metrics, identify risks and resource constraints, and drive mitigation plans.
- Own governance of Jira-based planning and execution, maintain project data, and track work against deliverables and strategic objectives.
- Prepare executive status updates, business reviews, dashboards, reports, metrics, and presentations.
- Coordinate engineering leaders, technical leads, architects, program managers, distributed teams, and external partners.
- Support collaboration with upstream open-source communities and help teams navigate submission timelines, review cycles, and community processes.
- Improve project management practices, tooling, reporting, and governance, including adoption of automation and AI-assisted workflows.
