Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Approximately 2–6+ years of experience as a Data Developer, Data Engineer, or in a comparable technical role.
- Hands-on experience with SQL Server, SQL queries, SSIS, and SSRS.
- Experience with source control and version management tools such as Git, Bitbucket, or Stash.
- Experience with job scheduling technologies such as SQL Server Agent or AutoSys.
- Foundational understanding of data integrity, governance, architecture, extraction, manipulation, storage, and data mining.
- Familiarity with DevOps concepts and CI/CD practices.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications and understand financial processes such as accounts payable and general ledger activities.
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle and basic project management principles.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and strong analytical capabilities.
- Ability to troubleshoot production issues by analyzing system behavior, data flows, functionality, and business processes.
- Understanding of vendor-based applications, APIs, performance monitoring, system tuning, internal controls, and technical best practices.
- Familiarity with Agile principles, Scrum, Kanban, Jira, and Confluence is preferred.
- Additional experience with C#, VB, .NET, UiPath, Python, XML, JSON, Azure, data warehouses, data marts, or other databases is advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Maintain knowledge of supported financial applications, data flows, integrations, and interfaces to provide development and production support.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications and develop solutions that meet functional requirements, acceptance criteria, and development standards.
- Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot data solutions using SQL Server, SQL queries, SSIS, SSRS, and scheduled jobs.
- Participate in Scrum, Kanban, stand-ups, planning, code reviews, and design discussions.
- Collaborate with architects and team members to create and maintain technical documentation.
- Monitor production environments, investigate performance issues and defects, and implement fixes and architectural improvements.
- Support non-production environments and follow change controls, internal controls, and governance requirements.
- Analyze system functionality, data flows, business processes, and production incidents to identify root causes and improvement opportunities.
- Develop and execute unit tests based on tickets and acceptance criteria.
- Assess feature requests by balancing business value, technical effort, risk, and available resources.
