Requirements
- Experience in backend services and distributed systems.
- Proven track record running production workloads on Kubernetes.
- Experience with public cloud platforms, specifically AWS.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and GitOps practices.
- Strong coding skills (Elixir knowledge is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential).
- Pragmatic approach to software architecture.
- Ability to provide and receive direct, constructive feedback.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills within a remote, async-first environment.
- Self-starting mindset and ability to take ownership of tasks.
Responsibilities
- Execute on the design and implementation of high-performance Elixir/Phoenix-based systems such as Nutrient's Document Engine and Web Services API.
- Design and build declarative infrastructure that is robust, scalable, and easy to observe and maintain using Terraform, Terramate, and FluxCD on Kubernetes.
- Operate and evolve the managed cloud platform, including cluster lifecycle management, upgrades, GitOps workflows, observability, and database operations.
- Share ownership for architecture, tools, and services while contributing to product development.
- Collaborate within a small, remote-first team to ship features, debug issues, and improve reliability.
- Meet in person with the team periodically to align and reflect.
