Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in production Python backend development
- Experience with API and service design, including REST or gRPC, contract definition, and proto evolution
- Skills in SQL and relational data management, including Google Cloud Spanner or equivalent transferable technologies
- Experience with schema reasoning and migrations
- Advanced communication skills in English (B2)
- Ability to collaborate with US stakeholders in a distributed team setting
- Flexibility to overlap working hours with US time zones
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain production-grade backend services using Python
- Design and implement REST or gRPC-style APIs, ensuring contract and proto compatibility across service evolutions
- Work with relational databases, including schema design, migrations, and query optimization
- Collaborate closely with the technical lead and EPAM engineers through pair programming and asynchronous communication
- Overlap with US time zones to support real-time collaboration with stakeholders
- Contribute to shared scope delivery within an existing backlog
- Participate in mentoring and strong pairing practices with team members
