Requirements
- 2+ years of professional experience in data engineering.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, including window functions and query optimization.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Scala, or Java.
- Experience with ETL/ELT tooling such as Airflow, dbt, Dagster, or Luigi.
- Experience with distributed processing frameworks like Spark or Flink.
- Experience with cloud data services (AWS, GCP, or Azure) such as Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake, or Databricks.
- Understanding of data file formats including Parquet, Avro, and ORC.
- Proficiency with Git, CI/CD, Terraform, and Docker/Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of data governance, lineage, privacy, and compliance.
- Fluent written and spoken English with the ability to communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Strong verbal communication skills for live client conversations and meetings.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain robust batch and streaming data pipelines from ingestion through transformation to consumption.
- Write clean, performant SQL and code in Python, Scala, or Java.
- Model data using dimensional models, star/snowflake schemas, and appropriate warehouse/lake/lakehouse patterns.
- Own pipelines end-to-end, including monitoring, data quality, observability, lineage, and cost management.
- Debug existing pipelines and code to improve reliability and performance at scale.
- Partner with analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into dependable data products.
