Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or closely related field of study, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 10 years of software engineering experience or comparable depth of experience.
- 15+ years of total engineering experience with significant depth in data technology, cloud, and AI.
- Leadership experience overseeing technical direction of data platform, technology and architecture.
- Expert knowledge of software engineering best practices for building modern data platforms, products, and solutions.
- Expert understanding of end-to-end modern data technology including data integration, ingestion, transformation, governance, BI, warehouses, lakes, NoSQL, and streaming.
- Strong understanding of AI, distributed systems, cloud computing, and microservices architectures.
- Demonstrated success in building mission-critical enterprise-class data platforms.
- Experience communicating complex technology subjects to business stakeholders and executive leadership.
- Proficiency in delivery mechanisms such as Agile.
Responsibilities
- Develop and drive the long-term vision for enterprise data platforms and architecture, ensuring alignment with business growth and AI success.
- Formulate and implement data platform strategy across big data, real-time, transaction, and governance domains.
- Oversee the architecture, design and development of a scalable data platform that enables self-serve success.
- Ensure production success and establish strong FinOps discipline to optimize economics including forecast, runtime and showback.
- Communicate data technologies, strategies, roadmap and progress to executive leadership and stakeholders.
- Build a strong engineering organization by mentoring team members and fostering solid engineering discipline.
- Collaborate with the data team and cross-functional engineering on technology and architecture strategy.
