Requirements
- Qualification as an attorney in at least one jurisdiction with relevant post-qualification experience.
- Strong commercial contracting skills including drafting/negotiating partnership, technology, and data agreements.
- Experience advising on complex program, commercial, or regulatory matters in fast-moving environments.
- Working knowledge of data privacy and data protection law.
- Ability to operate independently and reprioritize quickly during emergencies.
- Strong legal and business judgment with an ability to translate complex requirements into actionable guidance.
- Experience coordinating external counsel or specialist advisors.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Exceptional alignment with organizational values including emotional intelligence and inclusivity.
Responsibilities
- Build a repeatable legal model for emergency cash responses including country entry, regulatory review, and contracting.
- Lead legal operations during active emergencies to ensure fast delivery on emergency timelines.
- Serve as legal partner to U.S. programs for program design, partnership structure, and compliance.
- Advise on U.S. cash program legalities including public benefits, tax, privacy, and state-specific requirements.
- Draft and negotiate technology, vendor, data-sharing, and program-specific agreements.
- Coordinate with external counsel and specialist advisors globally.
- Develop reusable legal guidance, templates, and decision frameworks for recurring program issues.
