Requirements
- 5+ years of professional DevOps, SRE, or network engineering experience in an agile environment.
- Deep expertise in AWS services (EC2, Lambda, RDS, IAM, VPC, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with secondary cloud/hosting providers (DigitalOcean, Vultr, Hetzner, or Linode).
- Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and configuration management (Ansible).
- Expertise in Linux system administration and advanced networking (WireGuard, iptables, NAT, TLS).
- Experience operating VPN or proxy infrastructure at scale (WireGuard, Shadowsocks, OpenVPN, or IKEv2/IPsec).
- Strong understanding of DNS, CDN/edge (Cloudflare), and traffic shaping.
- Demonstrated day-to-day proficiency using AI agents (Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) for infrastructure tasks.
- Security-focused mindset (Vault, IAM, vulnerability scanning, compliance hardening).
- Strong CI/CD experience with GitHub Actions or similar.
- Scripting and automation skills in Python, Go, or Bash.
- Experience managing observability and monitoring tools like Datadog or Prometheus/Grafana.
Responsibilities
- Run and evolve a globally distributed VPN network spanning multiple cloud and hosting providers.
- Manage the AWS-based control plane, backend services, and infrastructure-as-code tooling.
- Transition manual runbooks into automated workflows and secure CI/CD pipelines.
- Own infrastructure and networking domain, partnering with engineering to ensure reliability.
- Participate in 24/7 on-call support and perform incident root cause analysis.
- Implement security measures including secrets management, encryption, and least-privilege access.
