Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 6 months of work experience in a medical office, call center, or customer service role.
- Associate's Degree or higher may be substituted for work experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Strong attention to detail with accurate data entry skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple responsibilities.
- Capability to remain composed and effective in stressful situations.
- Familiarization with EMR and scheduling systems like EPIC or PHS preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate patient scheduling activities including appointments, procedures, and exams for multiple hospital and outpatient departments.
- Facilitate communication between staff, referral sources, and physician offices regarding scheduling issues.
- Collect clinical information, verify insurance, and confirm patient demographics for diagnostic tests.
- Educate patients, families, and physician offices on department protocols, procedures, and testing criteria.
- Utilize scheduling software and electronic systems to manage patient access.
- Monitor practice protocols and provide recommendations for process improvements.
- Serve as a primary resource for staff, physicians, and referring offices.
