Requirements
- Active Maryland state PMHNP license in good standing.
- Proficiency with EMR systems (Epic experience highly preferred).
- Proficiency with telehealth platforms.
- Strong decision-making skills in high-acuity emergency and inpatient psychiatric settings.
Responsibilities
- Conduct prompt, comprehensive, virtual psychiatric evaluations for emergency department patients across covered UMCRH sites.
- Determine appropriate level of care and coordinate treatment plans directly with requesting ED providers.
- Complete voluntary and involuntary commitment paperwork in conjunction with ED providers.
- Enter initial admission orders for patients entering the inpatient unit at Capital Region Medical Center.
- Serve as the initial point of contact for secure text messages and nursing requests for the inpatient behavioral health unit.
- Partner with Hospital Medicine and other specialties to manage complex patient care.
- Maintain high standards for clinical turnaround times and clinical documentation in Epic.
