Requirements
- Previous hands-on experience as a Forward Deployed Engineer or in a genuinely equivalent role.
- Strong software engineering background with the ability to deliver production-quality code.
- Proven experience implementing successful workflow or process automation solutions.
- Demonstrated experience working directly with business stakeholders to define requirements.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments without predefined requirements.
- Experience managing the full lifecycle of a solution from discovery/prototype to production.
- Strong systems-thinking and analytical problem-solving capabilities.
- Technical proficiency with APIs, systems integration, and internal tooling.
- Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Proven track record of strong ownership, autonomy, and leadership.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Process Improvement, Product, DevOps, IT, and Security teams to identify workflow bottlenecks.
- Translate ambiguous business problems into concrete, actionable technical approaches.
- Map end-to-end workflows, including systems, stakeholders, dependencies, and handoffs.
- Identify, design, prototype, and productionize automation solutions.
- Integrate technical solutions with existing APIs, infrastructure, and internal product workflows.
- Communicate complex technical tradeoffs clearly to diverse technical and non-technical audiences.
- Work independently from initial discovery through to final implementation.
- Establish best practices to support the future growth of the Forward Deployed Engineering capability.
