Requirements
- PhD in Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Data Science, or another quantitative discipline.
- Strong background in digital signal processing and time-series analysis.
- Advanced Python programming skills.
- Hands-on experience with NumPy, pandas, SciPy, or similar scientific computing libraries.
- Experience validating algorithms, software, or analytical models.
- Ability to define acceptance criteria, validation strategies, and tolerance thresholds.
- Experience working with large CSV or tabular datasets and building comparison workflows.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience creating clear technical documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide signal processing expertise to engineering, migration, and clinical teams, ensuring a shared understanding of algorithm behaviour and expected outputs.
- Analyse IMU, audio, touchscreen, and other sensor datasets to identify anomalies, edge cases, and deviations.
- Investigate differences introduced by platform migrations, data pipelines, or computing environments.
- Apply statistical methods to determine whether observed discrepancies are meaningful or within acceptable tolerances.
- Deconstruct existing signal processing algorithms and create clear technical documentation supporting validation and knowledge transfer.
- Design validation frameworks, test cases, acceptance criteria, and tolerance thresholds.
- Develop and execute CSV-based comparison and reconciliation workflows for algorithm output verification.
- Classify, quantify, and document discrepancies, distinguishing numerical precision differences from genuine regressions.
