- Experience
- 3-5 years appropriate inpatient clinical experience required; 5-10+ years preferred.
Requirements
- Current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina.
- BLS certification.
- 3-5 years of inpatient clinical experience (5-10+ years preferred).
- Preceptor and Charge Nurse experience.
- Graduation from an accredited Bachelor’s, Associate's, or Nursing Diploma program.
- Must enroll in a BSN program within two years if not already held.
- Comfort and proficiency with computer technology, software applications, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to effectively communicate through asynchronous technology and telephone.
- Working knowledge of the nursing process, JCAHO requirements, and infection control.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Ability to undergo and pass a pre-employment physical capacity test.
Responsibilities
- Deliver exemplary nursing care virtually to inpatients in collaboration with the bedside care team.
- Monitor comprehensive compliance with best practice protocols and care bundles to improve patient safety and outcomes.
- Provide patient education and support virtually using two-way audio/video and written instructions.
- Identify and interpret trends and acute changes in patient physiology using EMR data.
- Serve as a resource for novice nurses and act as a preceptor for formal learners and staff.
- Perform as a Charge Nurse overseeing Remote Safety Observation (RSO) staff.
- Assist bedside nurses with clinical decision-making for patients with changing conditions.
