Requirements
- Hands-on experience building and tuning detections in a SIEM, specifically Elastic (Splunk or Sentinel also acceptable).
- Experience with AWS and cloud-native detection and response.
- Proficiency with Python for scripting and automation.
- Experience with Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Working knowledge of the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
- Proven experience triaging, investigating, and resolving security incidents.
- Strong, clear, and structured written communication skills.
- Experience with no-code security automation or SOAR-style tools (nice to have).
- Exposure to compliance frameworks such as PCI DSS, SOC 2, or ISO 27001 (nice to have).
- Background in fintech, payments, or other regulated industries (nice to have).
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver detection and response work end-to-end, from detection rules to automated responses.
- Build, tune, and maintain detections across the SIEM (Elastic) and AWS environment.
- Manage an investigation queue: triage, investigate, escalate, and resolve security incidents.
- Develop runbooks and automations using Python and no-code tools like Zapier or Tines.
- Document risk decisions and collaborate with team members.
- Support the compliance programme by maintaining controls and contributing evidence for audits like SOC 2 and PCI DSS.
- Use Terraform and Python to maintain infrastructure for detections and tooling.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for incident response and monitoring.
