Requirements
- 6-8+ years of professional data science experience with a formal foundation in statistics and machine learning.
- 2-3+ years of hands-on experience productionalizing and deploying data science models.
- Proficiency in moving work from notebooks to scheduled, reliable production pipelines.
- Proven experience with GCP (BigQuery, Cloud Composer, Cloud Functions, or similar).
- Strong Python programming skills across the full DS workflow (ETL, analysis, modeling).
- Experience mentoring or technically leading less experienced data scientists.
- Experience working in a startup or small, fast-paced environment where you built structure from scratch.
- Ability to own methodology decisions rather than just running existing scripts.
Responsibilities
- Establish technical quality standards, code review processes, and reproducibility practices for models and analyses.
- Migrate data science projects from ad-hoc notebooks to centralized, version-controlled, production-grade workflows.
- Design and implement production-grade data pipelines using GCP services like Cloud Composer, BigQuery, and Cloud Functions.
- Provide technical mentorship to data scientists of varying experience levels.
- Collaborate with the SVP of Product & Data to define technical direction for the data science practice.
- Stay current on modern machine learning and agentic workflow techniques to drive team adoption.
