Requirements
- Expert-level understanding of Linux internals and system administration.
- Deep, practical experience with virtualization technologies, particularly KVM/QEMU.
- Strong proficiency in Python and shell scripting for automation and tool development.
- Skilled at systematically debugging complex issues spanning hardware, firmware, BIOS/UEFI, and kernel drivers.
- Significant experience in a Senior SRE or Development role, ideally with large-scale distributed systems.
- Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code and configuration management tools such as SaltStack, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively across multiple engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop an expert-level understanding of the virtualized host stack from hardware and BIOS/UEFI to the Linux kernel and KVM/QEMU virtualization layer.
- Build robust automation and tooling using Python and shell scripting to manage large-scale infrastructure.
- Design and implement sophisticated monitoring and observability systems to proactively identify kernel or hardware issues.
- Serve as the ultimate escalation point for complex, system-level investigations across hardware, firmware, and software.
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to resolve service-impacting incidents and improve system resilience.
