Requirements
- 5+ years of coding experience.
- 3+ years of auditing experience.
- Proficiency in multiple EMRs, encoders, and Microsoft Office suite.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and maintenance of patient confidentiality.
- Ability to read, write, and effectively communicate in English.
- Understanding of medical and surgical terminology.
- Must hold at least one professional certification: CPC, CPMA, CCS, CCS-P, RHIA, or RHIT.
- Ability to organize and complete work in a timely manner.
- Proven ability to achieve quality and productivity standards.
- Demonstrated openness to innovation and AI tools.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and audit inpatient and outpatient accounts across the system including HIM facility coding.
- Assess educational needs of coding staff and providers, developing programs or researching educational resources.
- Create presentations, learning materials, and handbooks for training initiatives.
- Assist with edits, denials, and appeals as needed.
- Provide reports of audit findings to coding management and leadership.
- Coordinate ongoing professional seminars and maintain education records.
