Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in medical billing or healthcare revenue cycle management
- Experience providing guidance, mentoring, or day-to-day leadership to billing staff
- Strong understanding of healthcare billing, claim submission, payer requirements, and reimbursement processes
- Experience working with CMS-1500 and UB-04 claim forms
- Strong knowledge of billing workflows and common claim and payment issues
- Ability to review work for accuracy and provide clear, constructive feedback
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize workloads and support a team in a remote environment
- Ability to work independently and handle escalated billing issues
- HIPAA-compliant private workspace
Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily workloads and priorities across the medical billing team
- Monitor billing productivity, accuracy, claim submission, and turnaround-time metrics
- Review billing work and provide feedback to ensure client and company standards are met
- Support team members with complex billing issues, payer requirements, and claim corrections
- Coordinate with coding, claims, payment posting, denials, and AR teams to resolve issues
- Identify recurring billing errors and recommend process improvements
- Assist with onboarding, training, and ongoing coaching for billing team members
- Maintain and update billing procedures, guidelines, and process documentation
- Escalate significant client or operational issues to the Billing Operations Manager
- Prepare team performance updates and communicate key issues, trends, and priorities to management
