Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
- 15+ years of progressive experience in software engineering or architecture.
- Deep expertise in large-scale distributed systems, cloud architectures, and modern application platforms.
- Proven experience architecting regulated or high-reliability systems within medical or health tech domains.
- Mastery of architectural domains including microservices, event-driven systems, and data pipelines.
- Experience with cloud-native technologies, observability, and DevOps/SRE practices.
- Ability to influence senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with FDA, EU MDR, IEC 62304, or HIPAA frameworks (preferred).
- Background in AI/ML platform architecture and model deployment (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Define the multiyear architecture strategy for product software systems including cloud, data, and AI/ML infrastructure.
- Establish architectural principles, reference architectures, and guardrails to support reliability, performance, and compliance.
- Lead cross-functional architecture forums and governance processes to ensure consistent patterns and decision-making.
- Review key technical proposals and design decisions to ensure alignment with product strategy and long-term business goals.
- Partner with product management and regulatory teams to ensure designs meet medical device standards and software compliance requirements.
- Mentor engineering leads and architects to promote thought leadership and technical excellence across the organization.
- Investigate and resolve complex systemic issues involving scalability, reliability, and clinical workflows.
