Requirements
- 6-8 years of engineering experience, with direct experience in SCADA engineering.
- Engineering degree in electrical, mechanical, or energy engineering preferred.
- Advanced working knowledge of programming languages: C, C++, Java, Python, and Structured Text (IEC61131-3).
- Advanced proficiency with Inductive Automation’s Ignition SCADA platform or similar.
- Advanced knowledge of Windows servers, relational databases, and SCADA applications.
- Experience with PLC equipment: Schweitzer Engineering RTAC, Allen Bradley Control/CompactLogix, GE/Emerson RX3i, or similar.
- Advanced knowledge of industrial automation protocols: Modbus RTU/TCP, DNP3, OPC UA, and DA.
- Expertise in SCADA network design (Fiber Optics, Serial RS-232/RS-485, Ethernet TCP/IP) and PID loop tuning.
- Ability to develop and interpret technical diagrams (electrical, mechanical, control, networking).
- Understanding of power plant operating procedures and interaction with governing entities (ISOs, RTOs).
- Experience working with sub-contractors and field personnel.
- Proficiency with project management and scheduling tools.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and commissioning of SCADA monitoring and control systems for utility-scale renewable energy projects, including Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
- Define and implement SCADA design standards and best practices.
- Own end-to-end PPC implementation, including programming, hardware/software integration, and factory/site acceptance testing.
- Generate and maintain project documentation such as SAT reports, plant control narratives, and device points lists.
- Serve as a primary technical escalation point for complex PPC and SCADA issues.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through technical review and knowledge sharing.
- Coordinate with customers and field technicians for on-site commissioning and installation support.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance and standardize solutions across projects.
