Requirements
- 5+ years of backend experience.
- At least 1 year of experience working in Go in a production environment.
- Solid experience with web architectures, event-driven systems, and data-heavy applications.
- Experience designing systems, defending architectural choices, and explaining trade-offs.
- Strong sense of ownership to take subjects from ambiguity to production.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, Kafka, Temporal, OpenSearch, Kubernetes, and AWS.
- Bonus: Startup experience.
- Bonus: Experience in video or media infrastructure, such as ingest pipelines, transcoding, live streaming, or high-traffic storage.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical subjects end to end, from design to production, and run what you ship.
- Write and defend RFCs for structural decisions such as new datastores, message brokers, or third-party services.
- Co-design features with your product manager and technical leadership, including pushing back on product decisions when necessary.
- Help engineers level up through code reviews, pairing, and mentoring.
- Architect systems that process 145M+ minutes of video per month.
- Shape roadmap and structural decisions in collaboration with Engineering Leadership.
