Requirements
- Senior-level experience as a Data Engineer, Analytics Engineer, or similar.
- Expert-level PostgreSQL skills including complex transformations and performance tuning.
- Production experience with columnar/analytical databases (ClickHouse preferred; BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake).
- Strong production experience with dbt (project structure, testing, macros, CI/CD).
- Experience with semantic/metrics layers (e.g., Cube.dev, dbt MetricFlow, LookML).
- Experience with data cataloging and lineage tools (e.g., OpenMetadata, DataHub).
- Proficiency in Python for data engineering, pipeline development, and APIs.
- Experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB as source systems.
- Experience designing and maintaining data warehouses and dimensional models.
- Familiarity with modern software engineering practices, Git, and code reviews.
- Strong mentoring capabilities for junior team members.
- Commitment to clean code, clean architecture, and rigorous testing.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own robust data pipelines from source systems into the warehouse.
- Drive the dbt project by managing structure, conventions, testing, and CI/CD.
- Evolve the semantic layer to ensure consistent metric definitions across the organization.
- Champion data cataloging, documentation, and end-to-end lineage.
- Own data quality and reliability through monitoring, alerting, and rigorous testing.
- Optimize warehouse performance and query efficiency.
- Collaborate with BI, Product, and Engineering stakeholders to deliver clean data models.
- Mentor the wider data team through code reviews and technical guidance.
