Requirements
- Technical leadership experience in storage and querying.
- Expertise in writing Go.
- Experience working on high-throughput or complex systems.
- Strong debugging expertise in production environments.
- Experience breaking down complex problems and surfacing trade-offs.
- Proven ability to scope and deliver projects independently.
- Ability to thrive in a senior-heavy team environment.
- Prior experience with database engineering is a plus.
- Comfort with Kubernetes is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement solutions that power Honeycomb’s query and data storage infrastructure.
- Scope and deliver complex, multi-team projects independently from design to production.
- Collaborate with Product Management and engineering teams to align technical solutions with product needs.
- Participate in on-call rotations and define team KPIs and SLOs to ensure system reliability.
- Explore and implement new technologies and data storage techniques to optimize performance at scale.
- Mentor team members through code reviews and constructive feedback.
