Requirements
- BS in Pharmacy required, PharmD preferred.
- Active and current pharmacy license in the state of NJ.
- Must be registered or eligible for registration with the State Board of Pharmacy.
- 2+ years of experience in pharmacy distribution and packaging.
- Exposure to geriatrics and/or chronic care management.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
- Strong technical skills for navigating pharmacy software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated problem-solving, conflict resolution, and project management capabilities.
- Knowledge of state and federal pharmacy laws, including HIPAA, Fraud, Waste, and Abuse regulations.
- Ability to work Monday-Friday 3:30PM - 12:00AM ET and a rotating holiday schedule.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a point of contact for patients, families, and healthcare providers to address medication-related problems and pharmacotherapy needs.
- Explain care plan options, medication usage, side effects, and contraindications via verbal or written communication.
- Document patient care decisions, coding, and billing accurately in proprietary software.
- Implement procedures for assessing, compounding, packaging, and labeling medications in accordance with legal requirements.
- Oversee Pharmacy Technicians to ensure compliance with medication reconciliation, inventory management, and safety protocols.
- Review and approve prescription orders to ensure correct dosage, labeling, and billing.
- Provide clinical pharmaceutical care by assessing medication requests and making recommendations to improve patient safety.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal laws, including HIPAA, and report any incidents of fraud, waste, or abuse.
